Alderwasley is a rural Parish situated in the District of Amber Valley in the County of Derbyshire. The Parish Council is looking to recruit a Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer as the current post holder is retiring at the end of the year.
The Parish Council meets bi-monthly, usually 6 times per year, held on the third Tuesday in the month at 8pm. The Council consists of six elected Members. The Council is a burial authority.
We are looking for a self-motivated person who has experience of working in administrative roles, has strong financial skills, is confident using email, Microsoft Word, Excel and HMRC Basic PAYE. Ideally the applicant should have previous experience and appropriate qualifications (i.e. a recognised qualification in Local Government Administration) or the commitment to obtain the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CILCA) within two years of commencement of post. The successful applicant will be required to work from home for 4 hours a week and attend all of the Council meetings. The Council will provide a laptop and printer. The salary will be on the Nalc/NJC scale LC1 (above substantive range) SCP13-17 (£15.06 – £16.08) depending on experience

- Producing agendas and minuting Council meetings and the Annual Parish Meetings
- Managing the Council’s finances
- Ensuring the Council meets its statutory obligations
- Managing the Cemetery
